Other Information : This 360° view was taken from the top of the Cascade at Chatsworth house.
Chatsworth, home of The Duke & Duchess of Devonshire was recently voted the country’s finest stately home. In 2003 it received over 675,000 visitors from around the world.

The Cascade is the finest waterwork in the Garden to have survived. Finished in 1696 it was rebuilt only five years later on a grander scale. It was designed by a Frenchman, Grillet, a pupil of the celebrated Le Nôtre. The Temple or Cascade House at the top was added in 1703 to the plans of Thomas Archer.
The 105 acre garden at Chatsworth is a landscape that has evolved over 450 years, reflecting many important eras in landscape design. For more than 300 years it has been famous for the gravity-fed waterworks.

Other Information : This 360° view was taken from the centre area of the Almshouses in Etwall village.

The Almshouses were built in 1681. In the 1980's a restoration committee raised enough money to have the 18th C Bakewell Gates, from the former Etwall Hall, restored and erected in their present location at the entrance to the Almshouses. You can see the gates in the 360.

Other Information : This 360° view was taken from the middle of the walk bridge which is suspended across the River Derwent at Milford. It was built in 1982 and replaces the one which was built in 1826.

The Riverside Garden Centre can be seen on the bank of the river Derwent, It has a pet shop where you can buy bird seed for the Doves and ducks which can be found on the A6 side of the River bank.

Other Information : This 360° view was taken in the garden at the back of Kedleston Hall. The garden was landscaped in the 1760's by Robert Adam. Kedleston Hall was built for the Curzon family between 1759 and 1765.

Other Information : This 360° view was taken from the centre stepping stone at Dovedale. The broad shallow stretch of the Dove can be crossed using these stones and is a very popular place with visitors
.
This method for crossing rivers dates back to before the twelfth century.

Other Information : This 360° view was taken in the centre of the Market place in Belper.
The Market Place was originally known as the Green, a piece of land where people gathered for public events. It was improved and enlarged by George Benson Strutt in the 1830's to become the Market Place. It was paved in 1881 by George Henry Strutt using stone from his quarry at Red Lane Makeney. The waterless fountain was erected in appreciation of his services to the town and formerly opened by the Hon Frederick Strutt of Milford House.
The pub at the top of the hill is the White Swan.

Other Information : This 360° view was taken from the Garth (originally cloister-garth). This was the open area within the cloisters of the twelfth-century Augustinian Priory. After the dissolution of the monasteries in 1538 and the subsequent foundation of the school, the area was occupied by a small garden. In 1919 the old Priory was restored and the Garth laid out as a memorial to the 355 Old Reptonians who dies in the first World War.
In the 1980's a formal garden was laid out which you can see today with Azaleas, heathers, roses ,miniature rhododendrons and climbing shrubs.

Other Information : This 360° view was taken on the east side of the Erewash canal next to the lock cottage.
The cottage stands on the junction with the old Derby canal. It is the last remaining lock and toll house along the Erewash canal. The toll house was used by the Derby canal company until 1832, when they built their own on the opposite bank of the Derby canal. The Erewash canal preservation and development association now uses the lock cottage as its headquarters and the cottage is often open on Sunday afternoons during the summer.

Other Information : This 360° view was taken on the footbridge over the canal at Trent Lock.
The footbridge is located over the Erewash canal. This is where the River Trent meets up with the Erewash Canal. In this photo you can see the cooling towers of Ratcliffe on Soar power station, The Lock House Tea Rooms, Erewash Canal and the River Trent. The three Counties of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire all meet up within a few hundred meters of this footbridge. Trent Lock, the first lock on the Erewash Canal, gave its name to the substantial settlement which grew up where the Erewash Canal joins the Rever Trent. The Erewash Navigation Inn was built by the canal company in 1791 and doubled as a farmhouse. It became the "Fisherman's Rest" in the 1950's and was more recently the "Steamboat", complete with mock funnel. A former landlord used to operate a ferry on the River Trent.
Trent Valley Sailing Club was founded in 1886 and is one of the oldest inland sailing clubs in the Country. It is situated on an island formed by the river Trent and the Cranfleet canal. The present clubhouse, a well-known land-mark, was built in 1906 and can be see to the left of the power station.
