• Photos around the River Gardens area of Derby
The river Derwent flows right through the centre of Derby and a lot of city's industrial past can be seen along the river.

Exeter bridge which crosses the Derwent in Derby was built as the first project in the civic redevelopment scheme in the 1930's. During construction test was carried out to see if it would hold the weight of the traffic, for this test they ran a procession of traction engines, steam rollers and heavy lorries across the bridge. The bridge was officially opened by the minister of transport, Herbert Morrison.

Other Information : This is a photo of the Industrial museum taken from the side of Exeter bridge. Exeter Bridge was built in 1931 designed by C.H. Aslin as a replacement for the one built by James Trubshaw in 1850.
