• Photos of Derby from the top of Derby Cathedral, England.
The tower (Second highest in England) was built 1511-1532, The remainder was replaced in 1723 to a design by James Gibbs. The cathedral was originally All Saints church, It became Derby Cathedral in 1927 and was extended to designs by Sir Ninian and Sebastian Comper.
If you would like to go up the cathedral :

Several times a year Derby Cathedral has a "Tower open day", on these days they take you on a guided tour all the way to the top of the cathedral.
On the way up the 189 steps you stop in the bell ringing room and can also see the 10 bells (the oldest ring of 10 bells in the world).

If you would like to go on one of these tours then contact the Cathedral office to find out when the next one is taking place on Derby 01332 341201 or ring the Derby Tourist Information centre on Derby 01332 255802.

The tower open days are normally on Bank holidays, they start at 10am every 45 mins until 3.15pm.

I would highly recommend it as long as you are not scarred of heights !
