DP-OLDMPC-01 - The co-op butchers shop shows my mother's father (so I was told many years
ago) Alfred Job Millington around 1910-20. I don't know if that is correct or where the
shop is ! Though I think it maybe quite near Rose Hill Street in Litchurch, Anyone out there know the exact location then please get in touch. The sign reads "Derby Co-operative Society Ltd Branch No 34"
Update : June 1st 2006 - I would like to thank Janice Miller (Assistant Archivist
at The Co-operative College) for researching this and informing me that this co-op is in fact in Spondon!, As it happens I have a photograph of the building on my Spondon section, see HERE.
DP-OLDMPC-02 - This shop is at 67 Rose Hill Street on the corner with Madeley Street, this is where I lived. It is still a shop but there are quite a few changes. The photo shows my mother Esther Adams (Millington), me, Nicholas age 3 and Andrew age 2 (my two eldest children) taken about 1971
