Other Information : This shows Boots the chemist on the corner of East street, This building is still there today but the roads are now pedestrianised.

Other Information : This shows the Midland Drapery building built in 1882 which was demolished in 1970. It used to be located on the opposite corner to Boots the chemist on East street.

Photo Description : The Ice Factory

Other Information : This shows the old Ice Factory which used to be located where the Cockpitt island car park is now. The ice factory was built in 1901 by Sir Alfred Haslam ,the pioneer of refrigeration in ships.

Other Information : This shows the original site of the Castle and Falcon pub and the Derwent fish and chip shop. The road next to the pub is East street and the building on the corner is Millets.

Photo Description : The Reindeer Inn pub

Other Information : This is the Reindeer Inn pub which was located on the corner of Earl street and Eagle street. This pub existed in 1862, it was bought by Offilers in 1893. The pub was issued with a compulsory purchase order in 1965 but did not close until 15th March 1970.
In the background to the right there is a Morris 1100 police car, and to the left you can see the office block which is present now sited near the Main Centre.

Other Information : This is Eagle street which was demolished to make way for the Eagle centre. Earl street is half way down this street

Other information : Devonshire street ran from London Road at the
Spot down to a left turn at the end that ran into Eagle Street.
