Photo Description : Rykneld recreation ground
Image Reference No. : DP-020801CALIFORNIA-03
Date photo taken : 2nd August 2001
Other Information : This is a photo of Rykneld recreation ground from the very top of the hill on Saint Clares close. This area brings back lots of Winter memories for me and I dare say many children. It's hard to see from the photo but this is a very large steep hill and in the winter when it had snowed this was THE place to come with your sledge, or failing that anything that could be used to slide on such as a plastic sheet. On one occasion I used a fold up Formica picnic table which worked very well until the leg broke off (the table's leg not mine). See lower down page for sledging photos.
